"I've seen progress with all of my children. At this point during the school year the top half of the kids would be advancing to writing and sounding out words ... But now I'm getting that with all of my children."

"All of this success is going to be a strong foundation for what they're faced with in first grade."

"[With] the programs I've used in the past, the average kids stay average, the advanced kids continue to be advanced, and the slow kids ... have a very difficult time making any progress whatsoever. [With] the NewPhonics program, you're seeing everybody improve...the average kids show a noticable growth throughout the year, and really even the slowest kids ... [show] great progress throughout the year...I've never seen that before."

"I definitely see the light bulb go on as far as the kids reading with the NewPhonics program. And I think it happened much earlier than I expected with this program because they were doing so much with the sound-symbols and blending... All of a sudden they would look at the [sound] boards and say 'Oh! This is a word!' Then they could put all that together and actually read, and that's happened so much earlier because of this program."

"I would definitely recommend NewPhonics to any other school district. It's a very effective program and it can do nothing but help all the children that use it.

"I must tell you, I have seen incredible strides in the vowel consonant games we do in the classroom. The kids seem to have caught on to the idea that putting sounds together creates words. The other day I had the word out on the board, and one of my boys who usually just plays around was able to work out the word. I was flabergasted! The kids have started to make words out of letters that are on their magnetic boards! The children have begun to write sentences in their journals. I'm telling you, it came out of nowhere! One child started. I made a big to-do over it, and before you can blink an eye, almost every child wanted to write sentences!!! I don't think it happened as early as this in years past. I'm sure it must have been due to the NewPhonics Program.

I see great progress with the children - their writing and phoneme awareness. I hear them putting sounds together when they are attempting to figure out a new word. All I can say is Amazing!

"Well, what can we say-WE LOVE NEWPHONICS! We are now in our fourth month of using the program and we are really feeling it's results. I wanted to let you know personally how much we value your program...I am having one of the best years I have had teaching-and a large part has to do with NewPhonics. I finally feel that there is a structured way to give children the key to reading. Again, thank you for the NewPhonics program. We love it!"

"I wanted you to know how pleased we are with the program. My kindergarten teachers are absolutely thrilled! Their children are making progress they have never seen before. And the parents love the program too! They see their children repeating the rhymes at home and actually using what they have learned from the instruction in their reading and writing. We couldn't be happier!"

"I thought you would be interested in knowing that I was talking with our most "experienced" kindergarten teacher last night. She has taught 30 years and is retiring this year. She loves the Newphonics program! She is the lead teacher for our pre-first grade summer program -- a 5 week, mornings only, summer session for kindergarten students who need reinforcement of skills before they go to first grade. She will use the Newphonics program with these students again this summer to give the children another opportunity to learn what we know this program does so well.

We love the NewPhonics Program. We are using the program with seven oral kindergarten children. These children have severe hearing loss but with amplification are learning to develop oral skills. ...Our kindergarten children in the oral program love your phonics program. We have used the puppets, they love playing with them and we find them repeating the rhyme over and over with the puppets. In some cases we have had to modify the rhyme with each letter with fewer syllables. For us the simpler the better. The children love the sound boards and we find them getting better all the time with them. The blending activities are really helpful! We are really flying along with this program - I wish we had known about it and started in September. We are planning to continue with it next year.

"Our kids are doing great! K and 1 teachers often comment how well the kids are writing! Reading too, of course. Over the years I have seen fewer kids referred to Sp Ed testing in first grade."

I have used the NewPhonics program for the first time in my kindergarten classroom this year. It is very user friendly and the kids enjoyed it. Most importantly we had good results...Thank you for this great program. I am looking forward to using it in years to come.

"I feel the NewPhonics program really enhances the curriculum that I've already been using. I feel that it's very user friendly and it really has not been any additional work on my part. It fits right in to what I was already doing."

Julie Ryan
Kindergarten Teacher
DeWitt Road Elementary School, Webster, NY
Julie_Ryan@ccmail.monroe.edu

"NewPhonics extends and improves all the other areas of the curriculum because, as far as their writing [is concerned], they're able to realize, when they're putting sounds together, what those sounds are that they need to put together...When they might have been forgetting vowels before, even though that's natural at that age, these kids aren't forgetting about the vowels in the middle of words...They're actually hearing it and understanding that you need to put that together. It carries over into their reading in the same manner.

"I have had other experiences with other phonics programs and I find [NewPhonics] to be much more in-depth. It gives the kids an opportunity to really manipulate those sounds and those letters."

Julie Ryan
Kindergarten Teacher
DeWitt Road Elementary School, Webster, NY

"The idea that NewPhonics is such a systematic program really helps the kids because they know the steps involved in the program each time we use it ... they know what's coming next, and it builds upon prior lessons."

"The program as a whole is put together really well and it gets the kids immediately involved and I think that's why it works."

"The children get really excited whenever I say it's time for our NewPhonics program. Probably the most exciting thing for them is saying the "silly language" and the cheers."

"Seeing the kids so excited about learning to read and trying to sound out the sounds is just incredible."

"The parents, right from the beginning, have said 'Well I think this program is great, it's working, the kids are learning the sounds, they're really enjoying it.' It's hard to make learning fun and this is the key. I know it works, the kids enjoy it, but hearing it from parents, that it's positive and that they are continuing to use [NewPhonics] in the home to further the reading experience, is just wonderful."

"Teaching reading readiness in the past has been like pulling teeth ... Now, with the NewPhonics program it's been painless and exciting."

"The sound-symbol cheers play a big part in this program because everyone is moving their complete body and really getting involved in saying the cheers. They all feel special because they are individual cheer leaders and it helps for that reinforcement of the sound. I never have to say 'Let's get started' because everyone's ready to move back and forth and enjoy themselves at the same time. And that's a big part of it - to enjoy and have a lot of fun."
